Remington Relief Fund

Providing emergency relief assistance to stakeholders, residents, families of Remington and to members of the surrounding Remington communities who are suffering from unforeseeable and uncontrollable hardships.

We are here to help! All applicants are highly encouraged to seek out the help of an advocate, such as your designated Human Resources contact, in completing and submitting this application.

The Remington Relief Fund ("RRF") is a Texas non-profit organization 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 2018 for the sole purpose of providing emergency relief assistance to stakeholders, residents, families of Remington and to members of the surrounding Remington communities who are suffering from unforeseeable and uncontrollable hardships such as natural disasters, fires, floods, storms, illnesses, death, accidents, violent crime or other similar occurrences.

*Remington Relief Fund is IRS exempt, your donation to the Remington Relief Fund is tax-deductible up to the date of formation of the organization.  
   

Application Process

1. Applicants are highly encouraged to seek out the help of an advocate, such as your designated Human Resources contact, in completing and submitting this application.
2. Completed applications and required supporting documentation must be submitted via email to remingtonrelieffund@remingtonhotels.com. Retain a copy for your records.
3. Applications are reviewed by the committee at least monthly unless otherwise deemed urgent
4. Award determinations are made and applicants are notified of the approval or denial of their request
5. Payments are distributed for approved requests
6. Voluntary testimonies are captured via letter or video

Award Criteria

Hardships must be unforeseeable and uncontrollable such as natural disasters, accidents, illnesses, deaths or other dire circumstances as defined. 
  • Awards may range from $100-$1500
  • Amount per Type of Award will be outlined
  • Final award to be determined by committee and approved by RRF Board of Directors

Board of Directors


Hassan Majd is a 44-year hotel veteran and started his career with Remington Hotels in 1993. He held a number of positions in his 27 years with Remington, from General Manager to Senior Vice President of Operating Performance and Improvement. Hassan received several awards at Remington, including 6-time GM of the Year, Hotel of the Year, recipient of The Bennett Award and he is also a member of Remington's President's Club.
Hassan has served as a member of the local Hotel and Lodging Association.
Hassan attended University of Colorado and is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA). He is currently retired and resides in Oregon with his family.


Al Granholm serves as Senior Vice President of Facilities and Loss Prevention at Premier Project Management. Mr. Granholm joined Remington/Premier Project Management in 1997 and has over 31 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Remington Relief Fund,  Board of Commissioners for York Township, PA and the York Area Regional Police Commission. He holds BS from Northern Illinois University and Project Management Certification from Penn State University


Lee Morton is currently retired after a 43 year career. He started his career in a series of Controller positions for Holiday Inn and Hilton Inc. He joined Mariner/Remington in March 1990 and held multiple positions in accounting until he retired in December 2017. He has worked with many charitable organizations through the years.

Lee is a graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management.
